"Only with justice will we arrive at peace", shouted the elected official, Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa.

MAYOR, ERIC GARCETTI, KEVIN DELEON AND "NUCKLEHEAD" NUNEZ AT MCARTHUR PARK:

"Only with justice will we arrive at peace", shouted the elected official, Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa.

HEY TONY...Perhaps the text translation got it wrong. Did you REALLY say that? I thought we were supposed to always remain peaceful. You just said, "right to peaceful protests/marches/demonstrations". But, then you say, "Without justice, no peace." Sounds kind of riot inciting -- even to ZD. Plus a tad divisive.

SO, ONCE A FINDING HAS BEEN MADE, THEN YOU WILL BE PEACEFUL. AND EVERYONE WILL BE SATISFIED AND PEACEFUL ONCE THE REPORT IS COMPLETE/JUSTICE HAS BEEN SERVED? OR WILL YOUR AUDIENCE BE "EVALUATING" THE JUSTICE IN IT'S OWN COURT OF PUBLIC OPINION -- THEN DECIDE WHETHER TO ARRIVE AT PEACE?]

But most of the time, the shorter version is better. That was certainly true with newly elected school board member, Tamar Galatzan, and veteran chair, Marlene Cante

Details will emerge over the next 45 days as Monica Garcia and the board members-elect - Tamar Galatzan, Richard Vladovic and Yolie Aguilar Flores - work with Villaraigosa to map out a plan. Step one is expected to be Garcia’s election in July to lead the board, ousting Marlene Canter, who has served as president for the past two tumultuous years.

The Los Angeles Unified School District allows one of its highest-ranking construction managers to run a side business supplying consultants to the $20-billion school-building program and, in some cases, to act as the prime watchdog over the accuracy of the hours they bill.

it was revealed in the Los Angeles Times that a Republican group had spent $170,000 to help elect Villaraigosa backed Democrat Tamar Galatzan over the Teacher union backed Democrat Jon Lauritzen.

“I’m not the kind of person to whom you say ‘Jump’ and I ask ‘How high?’” replied Galatzan, who says she told the mayor point-blank, if he wanted a board member whom “he would call up and say ‘do x, y and z’ — and they do x, y and z — I didn’t think I was his gal.”

Now the Mexican-American community of Los Angeles should keep an eye on Tamar Galatzan and what she does on the school board which will impact the education of our children. Galatzan joins two other "Daughters of the Covenant" on the school board, Marlene Canter and Julie Korenstein.

Now that there is almost total domination of the world mainstream media by one group with a specific interest, can we really say that there is "Freedom of the Press"? These global media conglomerates have gone further to subjugate free thinking. Not only do they put the screws on journalists under their employment, but they are also going after small independent news services like La Voz de Aztlan. Our readership is well acquainted with the varied methods that have been employed to silence us. The most recent one has been the use of a Los Angeles weekly tabloid to attack our publisher Hector Carreon. The article quotes Ms. Tamar Galatzan of the ADL of B'nai B'rith (Sons of the Covenant), a well known U.S. branch of the Israeli MOSSAD, as making a statement that should chill the spines of every freedom loving American. Her statement also shows that there is a very well orchestrated and coordinated movement around the world that is working in union. The Canadian media mogul Izzy Asper won the coveted B'nai B'irth International Award of Merit and Tamar Galatzan of the ADL of B'nai B'rith was quoted, in the last sentence of the tabloid's article, as saying, concerning our publisher, "We're going to keep an eye on him."

What the Hell is this? Anti-Latino and Anti-semetic all at once?

Hey folks, if you don't like Mexicans, Catholics and Jews running LA, it is time to move on.

Maybe you yearn for the good old days of Jimmy Hahn, when all we had was corruption and stagnation. No construction, no growth, no nothing, except of course, "happy endings" for his Deputy Mayor in charge of all the proprietaries (LADWP, LAWA and Port).

Yes, we yearn for real leaders like Jim Hahn who had more class in his pinky finger then this gang banging, cholo, low class, mafioso, Mecha boy who now is our mayor and embarrassed this city throughout the nation. He hasn't done shit for this city and spends more time wheeling and dealing like the corrupt little shit that he is to control everything. Monica Garcia will be an embarrassement as Prez of School Board. She's nothing but a loud mouth, poorly dressed, unprofessional woman.

Richardson will take some of the Latino vote away from Hillary. What a moron to have Metrosexual Fabian on her team. Big mistake. All the educated Latinos won't vote her just because of guilt by association.

So, if Villaraigosa and Nunez are so unpopular, how do they keep getting elected by huge majorities?

Why did corrupt and do nothing Hahn get swamped by Villaraigosa?

You sound like a frustrated loser who can't get anything he wants. In fact, you sound like ZD and Matt, who are still whining about their illegal operations being shut down.

Wanna buy a tee shirt or some incense? Or just give me some money through paypal??

"Without justice, no peace"

Does AV have nothing creative. This was the slogan of the Black American community when something went wrong; the Watts riots, Rodney King, etc.

9:31am,

I personally am not saying they are unpopular - just agendized, niche, corrupt politicians. Laugh now. The heat is coming down, y'all...(And no, not MY heat.)

Here's what bothers me: Although Nunez is part of the latino community (as a citizen) -- he represents the State, as a whole, (as an elected official -- and especially as Speaker of the State Assembly.)

Now it is perfectly fine, as a politician, to address niches of the overall state community. For example to discuss the impact and agenda of the latino community.

But when you are at an event, as state official -- please say, "your community", or "the latino community" -- not "our community": Because "OUR" community is "ALL" communities. Unless you subscribe to some other form of democracy. DO YOU?

And Mayor -- WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING HOLLERING THAT "JUSTICE/PEACE" RIOT INCITING NOISE IN SPANISH AS AN ELECTED OFFICIAL. Eric -- I sure hope it was translated in english

Anew day dawns at LAUSD.

Time for the union to shut the f*ck up and The Mayor to show us what he can do.

He must be a loser; he doesn't sleep in his vsn, he doesn't beg for coffee money, gas money or food money.

What a loser.

Why can't be be more like ZD?

Why can't he just go sell tee shirts on the beach and incense on the boardwalk and be a winner?

Damn, we are stuck with a losar who just wants to educate kids.

How do we get out of this mess?

Not only was the message incomplete, but the language was incomprehensible to most of the educated Mexicans.

Who taught this guy to speak Spanish?...I do better and I only know "street spanish"
